Education, not medical advice

The information on wingtek.ca, including blog posts, case stories, graphics and videos, is shared for general education. Our goal is to help people understand their options, navigate their care, and relate to others with similar experiences. It is not medical advice and does not replace an assessment by a qualified health professional.

Every person is different. Do not start, stop or change a treatment, device or exercise program based only on information from this website. Talk to your physician, physiotherapist, orthotist, prosthetist or other health professional about your situation.

No clinician-patient relationship

Reading this website, sending a message, or using our chat does not create a clinician-patient relationship with WingTek Orthotics and Prosthetics Inc. That relationship starts once you have been assessed in our clinic.

Emergencies

This website and our messages are not monitored for emergencies. If you have a medical emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Accuracy and results

We work to keep information accurate and current, and we list our sources where we use outside research or manufacturer information. Health information changes over time, and we make no guarantee that every page is complete or up to date. Case stories describe individual experiences. Results vary from person to person and are not a promise of any outcome.

Products, brands and images

Product and company names, including Talee, Invent Medical, Ottobock and Össur, are trademarks of their owners. Mention of a product is for education and does not mean the manufacturer endorses WingTek. Some product images and illustrations are provided by or adapted from manufacturer materials and are used with permission. Photos of patients are shared only with written consent.
