Funding Options at WingTek
Saskatchewan Aids to Independent Living (SAIL)
- WingTek is an authorized SAIL vendor for orthotic devices.
- Saskatchewan residents with a valid health card may qualify for partial funding through this program.
- Clients not covered by SAIL may be eligible for additional funding through their private insurance plan.
- Private insurance plans often reimburse clients for their portion of custom orthotic devices not covered by SAIL.
- A prescription from a specialist is required to access SAIL funding.
Workers’ Compensation Board (WCB)
- We can submit estimates and direct bill WCB once approval is granted.
- Billing occurs after the approved device is dispensed.
Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB)
- Coverage may be available for First Nations and Inuit patients requiring medical supplies and equipment.
- As a registered provider, we can request pre-authorization (if required) and bill approved charges directly to NIHB.
Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI)
- We can submit estimates and direct bill SGI once approval is received.
- Billing occurs after the approved device is dispensed.
Veteran’s Affairs Canada (VAC) and Service Canada
- Veterans and active service members are covered under Medavie Blue Cross (plan coverage varies).
- We are a registered provider and can submit estimates and direct bill VAC once approved.
- Active service members require pre-approval via their military base; we bill Medavie Blue Cross directly after dispensing the device.
Private Insurance
- Coverage varies based on your individual insurance plan.
- Payment is required at the time your device is dispensed.
- We provide the necessary paperwork to simplify your claim process.
- Knowing your coverage limits ahead of your appointment is recommended.
- Many insurance providers also cover part of the costs for ready-to-wear braces and foot orthotics.
- We recommend confirming your coverage details with your insurance provider before your appointment to ensure a smooth reimbursement process.
